NFL Watch Party: Bringing the Playoff Excitement Home

Challenge:

As the 2020 playoff season approached, NFL Canada aimed to engage a crucial segment of its Canadian audience: the casual fans. These individuals are drawn to the playoffs not just for the football, but for the communal experience of parties, snacks, and camaraderie. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic altering the landscape for sports fans, NFL Canada faced the challenge of bringing the playoff excitement to these fans in the comfort of their homes.

Solution:

Enter the NFL Watch Party. In partnership with DAZN, we developed a chrome extension designed to transport users to their very own playoff party, right from their living rooms. This innovative solution allowed fans to recreate the thrill of game day, complete with virtual gatherings, interactive features, and real-time engagement.

The NFL Watch Party revolutionized the way casual fans experience the playoffs, offering a dynamic and interactive platform for virtual gatherings. By leveraging technology and collaboration, we successfully bridged the gap between the excitement of live sports and the safety of at-home entertainment. Through immersive features and engaging content, the NFL Watch Party ensured that fans could still come together, cheer on their favorite teams, and celebrate the spirit of the playoffs, all while prioritizing safety and convenience.

The NFL Watch Party. In collaboration with DAZN, we created a chrome extension that would allow users to create their own playoff parties online. This chrome extension would allow users to banter with fellow fans in customised chat windows and also video chat live during the games. We also created limited edition NFL playoff emojis to use in the chat window.

 

We created an option for other brands/co-sponsors to interact with fans in the chat window and giveaway free coupons and swag. 

 

To promote the watch parties, we also  partnered with ex-NFL stars. These celebs would gatecrash watch parties, interact with fans and give away NFL swag.
